‌Stair railings are mainly composed of handrails, columns, crossbars and bases. The handrails are located on both sides of the stairs for pedestrians to hold on to maintain balance; the columns are important components that support the handrails, usually perpendicular to the stair treads; the crossbars connect the columns and the base, playing a fixing and supporting role; the base is the basic part of the stair railings, connected to the stair treads.
Installation method of stair railings
There are mainly the following installation methods for stair railings:

‌Bolt fixing‌: fix the railings with bolts, screws, clips and other components.
‌Embedded parts fixing‌: embed the embedded parts into the concrete before installation, and then install the railings.
‌Gluing fixing with grooves‌: fix the railings with glue between the railings and the concrete.
‌Combined fixing‌: combine multiple fixing methods to ensure the stability and safety of the railings.
Installation location and construction method of stair railings
The installation location of stair railings can be divided into two types: front installation and side installation:

‌Front installation‌: The railing falls directly on the step or floor, which is easy to install and low cost, but it will affect the width of the stairs (about 30~50mm).
‌Side installation‌: The railing is installed on the side of the step or floor surface, which can maximize the use of the stair width and is suitable for places such as lobbies and atriums, but the construction is more complicated and the cost is higher‌.
